SEOUL, April 12 Samsung’s next-generation foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is rapidly taking shape through a series of credible leaks. Expected to debut in July 2025, the book-style foldable smartphone will reportedly introduce major upgrades across display, performance, camera, and software, solidifying Samsung’s lead in the foldable market.

Larger, More Durable Displays with Slimmer Profile

According to reliable tipster Anthony (@TheGalox_), the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature:

  • 8-inch inner display (up from 7.6 inches)

  • 6.5-inch cover screen (up from 6.3 inches)

  • Reduced crease visibility with new protective display layers

  • Improved dust and water resistance (tipped to surpass IP48 rating of Z Fold 6)

  • Thinner profile: just 4.5mm when unfolded, making it one of Samsung’s slimmest foldables to date

These enhancements aim to deliver a more immersive and durable experience, catering to productivity users and multitaskers alike.

Camera and Performance Boost: 200MP Sensor & Custom Chip

One of the most striking rumored upgrades is the 200-megapixel primary camera, a huge leap from the 50MP shooter on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This could elevate the Fold 7’s imaging capabilities to flagship-tier levels, potentially matching or exceeding the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Z Fold 7 is also expected to feature:

  • An improved under-display camera

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC (same as in the Galaxy S25 series)

  • A larger vapor chamber for enhanced cooling

  • New stereo speakers

  • An upgraded vibration motor for better haptic feedback

These refinements will likely provide enhanced gaming, media, and multitasking performance.

Software: One UI 8 Based on Android 16

With Android 16 expected to roll out to Pixel devices by June 2025, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is tipped to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box. This version is expected to include:

  • Optimizations for large-screen and foldable devices

  • New multitasking features

  • Enhanced AI integration and smart assistant improvements

This makes the Z Fold 7 one of the first non-Pixel smartphones to launch with Android 16 pre-installed.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

Samsung typically announces its Z Fold and Z Flip series during its Galaxy Unpacked event in July, and current leaks point to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 being on track for a mid-2025 reveal. With cutting-edge hardware and refined foldable technology, Samsung appears ready to set a new benchmark in the premium foldable smartphone segment.
