Government to Provide ₹5,000 Monthly to Textile Workers: MP CM Mohan Yadav Announces Big Relief

BHOPAL, April 16, 2025 — In a major move aimed at supporting the working class, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a new government initiative under which eligible workers—particularly those employed in the textile industry—will receive a monthly ex-gratia amount of ₹5,000 directly in their bank accounts.

The announcement was made during the 7th session of the All India Vanvasi Gramin Mazdoor Mahasangh, where the CM outlined the state’s commitment to uplifting laborers, especially those belonging to tribal and rural areas.

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav revealed that the government is finalizing a monthly assistance plan for workers in the textile sector. The ex-gratia payment of ₹5,000 aims to offer financial relief to laborers affected by unstable employment and rising living costs.

  • Pending Payments: Assurance to clear pending wages of Ratlam’s Sajjan Mill workers

  • Local Jobs for Migrant Workers: A diamond factory in Alirajpur will provide employment to locals who previously migrated to Surat

  • New Medical Colleges: Announced in Dhar and Jhabua districts to enhance healthcare access

  • Sambal Yojana Expansion: Encouragement to register under the Sambal Yojana, which offers assistance in healthcare, education, housing, and accidental death support

Empowering the Working Class

Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the state’s dedication to working-class welfare. “We are not just talking about solutions; we are implementing them. Laborers are the backbone of our economy, and we will leave no stone unturned to improve their lives,” he said.

A high-level meeting with the Federation in Bhopal is expected soon to finalize the points raised during the Mazdoor Mahasangh convention.
