Tata Harrier EV: India's Most Anticipated Electric SUV Nears Launch

Send Push

Tata Motors, the undisputed leader in India’s EV space, is gearing up to launch one of its most awaited and powerful offerings in the mid-size electric SUV segment — the Tata Harrier EV. First unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Harrier EV has generated immense excitement across the country. With road tests, teaser videos, and production rumors in full swing, the electrified version of Tata’s popular SUV is closer to hitting Indian roads than ever before.

Modern Design with Electric Flair

The Tata Harrier EV closely mirrors the styling of its ICE sibling, but EV-specific touches distinguish it as a modern electric SUV. These include a closed-off front grille, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a redesigned bumper, all contributing to a futuristic and aerodynamic profile. The silhouette remains bold and commanding, in line with Tata’s design DNA, while the EV upgrades signal a tech-forward identity.

Smart, Spacious Interior with Advanced Tech

Inside, the Harrier EV is set to deliver a premium and futuristic experience. Built on Tata’s Omega Arc platform using Generation 2 EV architecture, the SUV will be equipped with standout features like:

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities

  • Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System)

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • 360-degree surround camera

  • Standard 6 airbags

Tech-savvy users will appreciate the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 10.25-inch fully digital driver display, promising a refined and immersive driving experience.

High-Performance Battery and Long Range

The Tata Harrier EV is expected to come with a robust 75 kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of delivering up to 500 Nm of torque and supporting fast charging. A more affordable variant with a smaller battery could also be in the works. With a dual-motor setup and AWD capabilities, Tata aims to deliver a competitive range of up to 500 km on a single charge, although official figures are still awaited.

The Harrier EV will directly compete with other upcoming and existing electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, and MG ZS EV.

What Makes the Harrier EV a Game-Changer?
  • India-developed architecture tailored for EVs

  • Best-in-class safety and smart features

  • Extended range with rapid charging

  • Designed for tech-forward Indian families

Tata Motors has clearly positioned the Harrier EV as a benchmark for electric SUVs in India. With its aggressive stance, tech-heavy cabin, and environment-conscious powertrain, it’s set to redefine expectations in the segment.
