NEW DELHI: In a chilling incident from Haryana's Nuh district, a 15-year-old boy has been apprehended for allegedly murdering a seven-year-old child using a pair of scissors, reportedly as revenge for being exposed for stealing a mobile phone.
Stabbed 18-20 times, body dumped on expressway
According to Gurugram Police, the gruesome crime unfolded after the younger boy informed his father about the theft of his mobile phone by the teenager. Humiliated after having to apologise for the theft, the teenager allegedly lured the child away from home on Saturday and stabbed him “18-20 times” with scissors, reported PTI.
The boy’s blood-soaked body was discovered on Sunday morning by villagers along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, sparking horror in the community. The child had multiple injury marks on his chest and forehead. The murder weapon, a pair of bloodied scissors, was found near his body.
Killer joined search party to avoid suspicion
In a disturbing twist, police said the accused teenager returned home after the crime and joined the search party looking for the missing child, pretending to help the family. However, the victim’s father grew suspicious, prompting police to question the teen, who eventually confessed.
Revenge motive revealed
“To take revenge for the humiliation after being caught stealing, he planned and executed the murder,” a Gurugram police spokesperson said, adding that the teenager’s father had also been forced to apologise after the theft.
An FIR has been registered, and the accused will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. The child’s body has been sent for postmortem.
The incident has left residents of Kalwadi village in shock, with police describing it as one of the most brutal child murders reported in the region in recent years.
