Malayalam actor Shine Chacko held in NDPS case, granted bail

Kochi: Malayalam film actor Shine Tom Chacko was on Saturday arrested in a case registered under NDPS Act following a four-hour-long questioning in connection with his alleged escape from a hostel during an anti-drug search . Chacko, who was acquitted in a 2015 drug case recently, allegedly fled from the hotel in Ernakulam North when officials of District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (Dansaf) arrived there for checking on Wednesday.

After receiving police summons regarding this, he appeared before the cops at Ernakulam North police station on Saturday. Following his arrest, he underwent a medical examination at Ernakulam General Hospital, where samples of blood, urine, hair, saliva and nail clippings were collected for forensic testing . He was later produced before a court and released on bail.
