NEW DELHI: The newly-appointed chairperson of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam ( TTD ) board BR Naidu on Thursday said that his primary effort would be to ensure that all those who work at TTD should be Hindus. He added that he would speak to Naidu government on how to deal with those belonging to other religions and working at TTD, if they should be sent to other government departments or given retirement, PTI reported.
"Everyone who works at Tirumala should be Hindu . That would be my first effort. There are many issues in this. We have to look into that," he said.
He claimed that numerous irregularities occurred at Tirumala under the previous YSR Congress administration.
The Andhra government on Wednesday established a new 24-member board for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which would oversee the renowned Balaji temple.
BR Naidu was appointed as the chairman, with Suchitra Ella, co-founder and managing director of Bharat Biotech International Ltd, included among the board members.
