Tyreek Hill allegedly took baby daughter against Keeta Vaccaro's wishes after vanishing for two days—court filing paints picture of control and abuse

Tyreek Hill, star wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins , is currently entangled in a serious legal conflict with his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro, concerning the custody of their infant daughter, Capri. The situation escalated following an incident in early April 2025, where Hill reportedly left their Florida home for two days after an argument and returned only to take their nearly five-month-old daughter despite Vaccaro’s clear objections.

Keeta Vaccaro, estranged wife of Tyreek Hill describes Hill’s actions as dangerous, citing lack of caregiving experience
In an emergency court filing, Keeta Vaccaro described Tyreek Hill’s behavior as not just irresponsible but dangerous. She claims that Hill has never taken care of Capri on his own and that his decision to take the child was not rooted in parental responsibility, but in a desire for control.

The court motion states, “He has never been alone with the baby,” and when Keeta Vaccaro expressed concerns, Hill told her that he and his mother would "figure it out" in terms of caring for the baby. This dismissive attitude, she argues, underscores his lack of preparedness and seriousness as a father.

Vaccaro's petition paints a disturbing picture of the couple’s relationship, alleging a pattern of controlling and emotionally manipulative behavior by Hill throughout their marriage. She has requested temporary full use of their shared home and is seeking to limit Hill’s time with their daughter to supervised visits only. Vaccaro also accuses Hill of being abusive and threatening, adding that his behavior has been largely ignored by the NFL a point of concern given the league's previous promises to uphold stricter conduct standards for players.

This incident adds to Hill’s history of legal troubles. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery charges. He was also investigated in 2019 over allegations of child abuse involving his son, although no charges were filed in that case. These past incidents have led to ongoing public scrutiny of Hill’s behavior off the field.

As of now, the NFL has not made any public comments regarding the recent allegations. However, this case raises questions once again about how the league handles off-field behavior, especially in situations involving domestic issues or child welfare.

Vaccaro’s filing seems to be a plea not just for custody, but for safety for both herself and her daughter. She alleges that Hill’s actions are not isolated incidents but part of a larger pattern of controlling, intimidating behavior that she has endured during their relationship. In seeking court protection and supervised visitation, she is taking steps to ensure that Capri’s well-being is prioritized.

While the legal process unfolds, this case is likely to garner significant media attention, not only because of Hill’s status as an NFL star but also due to the broader implications regarding player conduct and the responsibilities of major sports organizations in protecting families and children connected to their athletes.
