The Philadelphia Phillies are in a dilemma and this time its due to their outfielder Brandon Marsh . The outfielder had the worst opening of his career, thanks to his hamstring injury poor batting average , the Phillies are bound to make a decision. What does this mean? Will Marsh lose his position on the team? What will Phillies decide? We have some insights here.
Philadelphia Phillies executives on Brandon Marsh’s position on teamThe Philadelphia Phillies recently lost an important match to their rivals, the New York Mets. The loss gave the Phillies executives, aka top order managers and owners, some time to discuss the team’s future.
One of the names that did came up during the discussion was that of Brandon Marsh, the Phillies’ outfielder. The Phillies’ president, Dave Dombrowski, gave a cryptic statement when the management moved the outfielder to the Triple-A as a means of rehab for his hamstring injury.
“We like Brandon Marsh a lot, but competition is what makes the world go round.”
Does this mean Marsh might not get his position back? Will Johan Rojas take over Marsh’s on-field position?
Meanwhile, Scott Lauber, Phillies’ inquirer, also gave a statement, saying,
“I know Marsh is better than this (referring to his batting average and performance). But he’s got to go and do it. We hope that he gets a reset because we know he’s a good hitter.”
Though it did inflict some positivity that the Phillies might not remove Marsh from the roster, nothing can be said for sure.
Brandon Marsh’s 2025 stats, injuries, and everything elseThe year 2025 has not been good for Brandon Marsh and his statistics prove that. Since the beginning of the season, Marsh got 42 at-bats, of which he had 4 hits, one homer, and 5 RBIs, one of the worst this season. However, one of the major reasons behind such poor performance could be due to Marsh’s recent hamstring injury.
The Phillies have put Marsh on a 10-day injury list, pushing the player to rest and return stronger. Besides, the Phillies have also put Marsh in Triple-A during his rest time, so that he can practice, have a nice rehab, and improve his performance. With a batting average of .095, Marsh needs to pick up soon if he wishes to remain on the roster.
