Bret Hart opens up about his relationship with WWE
Recently, in an interview, WWE legend Bret Hart opened up about his current ties with WWE, and the icon has revealed that the atmosphere of WWE has quite changed. He said that it feels positive, and he feels more respected nowadays, unlike what he felt during Vince McMahon's era.
He has spoken about the long-complicated relationship between Vince McMahon and himself during his time in WWE. During a candid conversation with Rosenberg Wrestling, Hart said, “I’ll be honest, I feel like I have a little more respect now. I think people are kind of going, ‘Maybe Bret Hart was right all along.’ I’ve always been kind of banished and a little bit punished for all. ‘What do you expect? He punched out the boss.’ I knocked him out cold in the dressing room. So it’s always been kind of a black spot, and maybe still is, too.”
He also opened up about how, during the period of Vince McMahon, he felt less appreciated, untrusted, and did not receive the recognition that he should have deserved.
He continued, “I just kind of always felt that I was less appreciated and maybe untrusted, like where I wasn’t utilized as much as I maybe could have been or should have been.
Following he appreciated his efforts and patted his own back for always following his heart and taking the right decision for himself. “In my own heart of hearts, I would never change anything that I did. I did the right thing that day, and I feel like there’s been a bit of an upswing, or a certain sort of appreciation, more for my work rate and how hard I worked, and what I contributed to the business,” Hart added.
This is not the first time that Bret Hart has taken a jibe on someone from WWE. Just few days back, the WWE legend on The Ariel Helwani Show spoke about how young wrestlers look up to him even now and try following his footsteps.
He also took a jibe at Hulk Hogan's wrestling legacy and believes that Hulk Hogan does not have much to contribute to today's generation.
