Mikko Rantanen leads the Dallas Stars to victory with back-to-back hat tricks

Mikko Rantanen scored hat-tricks, finding the back of the net consecutively for the second game. In doing so, he joined Doug Bentley, who achieved the feat in 1944 and Jari Kurri, who did the same in 1985. Additionally, he has either scored or assisted on the last 12 goals made by the Dallas Stars. He has also bagged eight goals and fourteen points in the last three games.

This comes after the Dallas star was traded twice, from the Colorado Avalanche to Carolina and then from Carolina to Dallas. The Stars picked up on the opportunity to bring him on board at his peak. With his incredible performance, he helped the Stars defeat the Colorado Avalanche and also get a one-point lead against the Winnipeg Jets. The score between the two teams now stands at 3-2.

Commenting on his stellar performance, Rantanen shared, “Sometimes it’s ups and downs in hockey, and now it’s going well individually and as a team.”
