Laxmi Puja is the main ritual during Diwali and this is done by all Hindus. People offer prayers to the divine feminine energy, Goddess Laxmi . She is the Goddess, who represents wealth, luxuries, growth, success and good fortune. It is believed that performing Lakshmi Puja bring prosperity, luck, and success in the upcoming year. Laxmi Puja 2024: Significance
One of the most significant and well-known Hindu rituals is Laxmi Puja. The celebration of the Diwali festival is not complete without the performance of Laxmi Puja. The Puja Muhurat states that Laxmi Puja should be performed on Diwali in the evening. Spiritual purification is another aspect of the Lakshmi Puja. Devotees eliminate negativity and create a sacred environment that attracts positive energy by lighting the house and carrying out rituals.
Laxmi Puja 2024: Puja Vidhi
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals.
2. Clean the house and especially puja room.
3. Decorate your house with rangoli, flowers and lights.
4. Wear new clean clothes and take all the puja samagri for Laxmi Puja.
5. Some devotees keep fast on this auspicious day.
6. Prepare sattvik food for the bhog prasad.
7. During Shubh Muhurat, take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. You should also place Ram Darbar idol or image or picture.
8. Light 21 earthen lamps and worship Goddess Laxmi by offerings 11 Lotus flower, meetha paan, supari, elaichi, laung, five types of sweets, rice Kheer, batasha and kheel to offer Maa Laxmi.
9. Put haldi and kumkum tilak to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi and then start reciting Laxmi Mantra 108 times to invoke the idol.
10. Offer money, gold jewellery or coin, silver coins to the Goddess and pray to the Goddess to keep showering the blessings of wealth, finance and good fortune.
11. Complete the puja rituals by chanting Laxmi Mata Aarti and Lord Ganesha Aarti.
12. Once you complete the puja rituals, take all the 21 earthen lamps in which 5 diyas, must be kept in kitchen that are lit by desi ghee, room and one at the entrance door. Rest of them you can place in balcony, which are lit with mustard oil.
