How this woman lost 75 pounds without missing out on her favourite food

Like everyone else trying their best to reduce weight, Alaias Bertrand also attempted many restrivie diets, and a series of workouts, but it all failed after putting in six years of hard work. However, Alaias Bertrand finally lost 75 pounds just by doing two simple things, and that too without sacrificing her favourite food.


Elaborating on her weight loss mistakes, the 25-year old content creator from Florida, Bertrand shared with Business Insider that she was looking for quick fixes and followed a bad diet. She said that it was very difficult for her to pursue her weight loss journey and felt that she was not getting anywhere with it.

Bertrand revealed that it all changed when she started prioritizing her health over appearance of being slim. She opted to implement changes in her lifestyle and wanted to lose weight sustainably.


Why her first attempt at weight loss was a failure

In 2014, Bertrand started her journey of weight loss after a doctor told her she was obese. She explained that it was then she started to rethink her daily habits and then began to be on restrictive diets like Keto, intermittent fasting, counting calories and more. She added that tracking what she ate caused her to go down a negative spiral and it completely took away the fun from her life.

Later she introduced two simple changes to her lifestyle that made her lose 75 pounds and she has been fit from then till date without giving up on her favourite foods.


What finally worked for her


Bertrand, being a sports enthusiast, joined a sprint team to lose weight. However, as she was also part of the throw team, she split her time between two to practice both. By following these rigorous practices of running and throwing, Bertrans explained the feeling of being burnt out physically and socially.


She added that though people used to give her a side eye and gossip about her, it gave her a sense of purpose and self respect which pushed her more towards her goal. And in 3 years, in 2017, Bertrand lost 75 pounds naturally with her physical lifestyle change. Adding that she felt proud for finding how and what worked for her to lose weight and mentioned that she actually started feeling the change in her body.

Along with it, a sustainable diet plan helped her maintain the weight loss. She revealed that eating smaller plates and healthier item choice fixed it for her. Bertrand mentioned that she ate a lot of processed foods like noodles, chips, chocolates, pizza and late night eat-outs and once when she learnt from a Lebanese family that they finish their dinner by 6 pm, she also started maintaining a strict diet plan with time and chose options that were healthier food and had it in small quantities.


Bertrand has still managed to maintain her fitness with these two easy and consistent steps and you can surely do it too.
