YouTuber and comedian Purav Jha opened up about being around the famed cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal while filming an ‘India’s Got Latent’ episode - which hasn’t seen the light of the day yet. Appreciating Chahal, Jha shared behind the scenes, revealing how much Samay Raina dissed the cricketer in the episode.
In an interview with MenXP, Purav Jha recalled the experience of filming with the Indian cricketer. Not only did they have fun, but they also engaged in the conversation that made them feel like a couple of ‘back benchers.’ “Woh aadmi (Yuzvendra Chahal) launda hai. He is full of fun. I felt like I was sitting with my school friend. He is very down-to-earth and jolly. We were like backbenchers. He is very cool," Jha expressed.
The episode has not been released due to the controversy surrounding the comedian Samay Raina, content creator Apoorva Makhija, and YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia. After the show received backlash for the derogatory statements, Samay Raina deleted all the episodes from the platform.
Contemplating the unreleased ‘India’s Got Latent’ episode, Purav Jha said that he has mixed feelings about the release - while the fans are eager to watch the episode, everything surrounding the show has made it difficult. “Hum toh bach gaye the. Humara toh nahi kuch hua tha, but Yuzi bhai ki toh band bajaayi thi Samay bhai ne badhiya. Theek hai, bahut controversy ho gayi hai,” Purav shared.
“I don’t know if I should be happy or sad, as my episode has not been released due to controversy. Kyuki audience bolti hai yaar hume dekhna tha aapka wala episode toh fir aisa lagta hai ki aaya nahi… phir uske baad police wale,” Jha added.
Other than the episode featuring Yuzvendra Chahal and Purav Jha, there are never-seen-before episodes whose guests include Mallika Sherwat, Munawar Faruqui, Farah Khan, Ahsaas Channa, Vishal Dadlani, and Bhuvan Bam.
