Sophie Turner recently shared her thoughts on her decision to leave the US and return to her home in the UK following her split from Joe Jonas. In an interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s upcoming issue, the actress, explained that being back made her feel like she was 'finally reconnecting with herself' after living in the US during her six-year marriage to the 35-year-old singer.
Reflecting on her time in the States, Sophie revealed that it felt like her life had been on hold. She missed important moments with her friends and family back in London, especially during significant times in her life, like her pregnancies with her daughters, Willa and Delphine, who are now four and two respectively. The 'Game of Thrones' actress shared how she had missed out on bonding with friends and family, adding that a friend recently mentioned how she’d never even had the chance to see Sophie’s pregnancy bump in person.
Sophie also highlighted some issues she had with the U.S., expressing her discomfort with certain American laws, especially regarding gun control and women’s rights. She pointed to the rising gun violence and the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which had previously protected abortion rights up to 24 weeks, as factors that made her feel disconnected from the country.
Since moving back to England, Sophie has reportedly started a new relationship with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, which she recently made Instagram official. She reflected on how much motherhood has changed her, emphasizing that she now wants her daughters to see her as both a dedicated mother and a woman who enjoys life and thrives in her career. She added that she wants her children to understand that her hard work contributes to their happiness, including special moments like holiday celebrations.
