Television actor Pankit Thakker, known for his memorable roles in iconic shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli, and Special Squad, has now joined the cast of the show Saru. The show also casts Mohak Matkar, Anushka Merchande and Shagun Pandey in lead roles.
As both the actresses are new to the industry and started off their careers recently, Pankit says, “Working with young talent is always a delight. Their energy and curiosity are infectious, and I've learned a lot from them. As an actor, I believe there's always room for growth, and collaborating with talented individuals, regardless of age, is a great way to learn and improve. Mohak, in particular, brings a fresh perspective and dedication to her craft that inspires me.”
Having been a part of the industry for over two decades, Pankit has never shied away from emotionally intense and multi-dimensional characters. “I'm passionate about playing complex characters that challenge me as an actor. Since the time I started playing leads, all the roles I've bagged have been complex and layered,” he says.
Pankit adds, “Even in my recent film Maaya Ka Moh, which released last year, I got a chance to play a very nuanced and layered character.”
TTalking about his role in Saru, he says, “Shows like these let me explore the human side of things. Playing characters like Chandru has taught me so much about nuance and subtlety. I'm drawn to stories that make people think and spark real conversations. My goal is to create characters that stay with audiences long after the show ends.”
