Jasmin Bhasin, who is known for speaking her mind and never holds her opinions back, recently reacted to rumours of getting Botox done. A few months ago, the actress faced online trolling after a video surfaced in which her lips appeared noticeably fuller, leading to speculation that she had undergone Botox and filler treatments. She also spoke candidly about the unrealistic beauty standards that have been established by the industry.
During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Jasmin raised a valid point, asking why cosmetic procedures are seen as an issue. She further expressed that if these enhancements help someone feel more confident, then there's absolutely no harm in choosing them.
Sharing her views about the trolling, the Bigg Boss 14 star, "I don't know why people care so much. If something makes me feel better, more confident, boosts my self-esteem, then what’s wrong with that? If I've spent my whole life feeling like something is lacking in me, and I choose to fix it, what’s the issue with that? Why do people look down upon others for it? Everyone deserves to live fully and be happy. Everyone knows what's right or wrong for themselves, what they like or don't like. If someone feels they've crossed a line they shouldn't have, they should be aware of that too. But simply fixing or improving something because it makes you feel better, I honestly don't think there’s anything wrong with that."
She further reacted to the comments and explained, "Usmein galat kya hai? Everyone has their own body, their own face, their own needs. Whoever wants to get something done, should be free to do so. Recently, my name got linked to this topic too. I received a lot of messages on Instagram under one of my posts like, 'Jasmin has done her lips,' 'Jasmin has had something done,' and so on. But there was nothing like that. I had swelling from an incident, and that day the makeup artist had overlined my lips a lot. Which I actually liked at the time, because even on Instagram filters, lips tend to look slightly plumper. But later, I realised that the look didn't suit my face."
Jasmin mentioned that she likes to look her best and doesn’t let online trolling affect her. She said that as she gets older, her face and body will naturally change, and there might be some changes she chooses to make herself. For her, feeling good and looking pretty is important. She added that if she ever does anything, it would only be to feel better about herself, not to harm herself. Jasmin also pointed out that people will troll no matter what—whether someone does something or not—so it doesn’t really bother her.
Jasmin, who recently shot for an episode of Laughter Chefs season 2, spoke about how actresses are expected to follow the beauty standards of the industry. She explained that there’s a constant image of a heroine being slim, fair, and an amazing dancer. But according to her, that image isn’t the full picture. A lot of effort goes into creating that look—there are entire teams working behind the scenes, the outfits are carefully chosen, and actresses often follow strict diets. She pointed out that these expectations were created by the industry itself, and now everyone is caught up in them. Jasmin added that what truly matters is feeling happy and content with yourself from within.
