Singer and host Aditya Narayan has been singing since a young age and he draws a lot of inspiration from his father Udit Narayan and mother Deepa who has also been a singer. Talking about how his parents have been supportive, Aditya says, "Both my parents are singers. While we all know my father as he has sung for Bollywood films, not many know that my mother is also a regional singer. In fact, the two of them met each other because of this common factor. I draw a lot of inspiration from both my parents. Since I was a child I have loved singing in studios and have seen my father do it, so it was very natural for me to adapt to singing and work in that direction."
Sharing about his learnings, Aditya who is currently hosting Indian Idol, says, "In the professional sphere, there is so much that I have learnt from my father and his entire generation. Not just him, but other singers I grew up listening and watching to also add up to who I am today. Like any other child, my first hero is my father. The kind of stillness and patience he has is something I have learnt. Another thing that I have learnt from my father and I practise it myself is gratitude. We come from a humble background. He still treats his every song as his first and I also want to keep that hunger in life going on just like him. I love and admire that about him."
On the personal front, Aditya says that his bond with his father has developed, "As a father, he was different when I was young. He was quite a taskmaster and a lot of tough love. But as I grew up, now we are more like friends."
