As we all know that Diwali, the festival of lights and happiness is just around the corner and almost all the people of this country and those who live outside the country, everyone is preparing to celebrate the festival with great joy and enthusiasm. According to Hindu Calendar and Panchang, Deepawali is celebrated on Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. The festival holds a great importance in Hindu religion and this year, Diwali is being celebrated today, on October 31, 2024.

Are you Confused about Diwali Date?

According to our Hindu Scriptures, Diwali was first celebrated on New Moon Night or Amavasya Tithi as Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya city. During that time, there were no lights and also it was Amavasya so there was no moon light also so people of Ayodhya decorated the Ayodhya city and illuminated all the streets and ways by lighting diyas with oil to welcome the King of Ayodhya, Lord Shri Ram. This is how they celebrated the victory of Lord Ram over demon king Ravana.

Is Diwali or Laxmi Puja on 31 October or November 1, 2024?

Let's come to the fact, according to the Panchang, Amavasya Tithi will start from 03:55 PM on October 31, 2024 and Amavasya Tithi will end at 06:18 PM on November 1, 2024.

According to the timings, Amavasya Tithi prevails on October 31, 2024 so the festival should be celebrated on the night of New Moon or Amavasya. Laxmi Puja must be done on the day of Amavasya Tithi, which will be celebrated on October 31, 2024.

Now you do not need to be confused for the celebration of Diwali as ideally people should celebrate Deepawali on Kartik Amavasya, which is going to fall tomorrow.

Deepawali is the festival, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor and there is no celebration without family members, so this year celebrate Diwali with your loved ones and friends and make beautiful memories with them.

Happy Diwali to all..!!
