Ahmedabad: The city recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degrees celsius on Saturday, 1.4 degrees above normal, compared to 42.6 degrees celsius on Friday. At 26.3 degrees, the minimum temperature was 2 degrees above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is likely to be around 41 degrees celsius on Sunday.
A fall in maximum temperature by 2-3 degrees is expected during the next two days. Thereafter, a rise by 2-3 degrees is very likely over the region. Maximum temperatures are very likely to be in the range of 40-43 degrees celsius over parts of Gujarat, the forecast mentioned. On Sunday, dust storms with a wind speed of 20-30 kmph are likely to continue, added the forecast.
At 41.2 degrees celsius, Rajkot recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state, followed by 41 degrees celsius in Ahmedabad and 40.5 degrees celsius in Gandhinagar.
