Chennai: Two suspects from Tripura were arrested for their involvement in a house theft in Thiruvanmiyur. The suspects stole 30 sovereigns of gold worth 20 lakh on April 7.
Police said Sivasankari Prasad, 44, complained that she found the workers through an online portal and booked their services to clean her bathroom. While leaving the house, the duo managed to steal the valuables.
On receiving the complaint, the Thiruvanmiyur police reviewed CCTV footage, held inquiries, and followed a trail that eventually led them to the suspects.
Police recovered the stolen gold from the two suspects, Biden Mia, 32, and Liden Mia, 28.
The duo was produced before a city court and remanded in judicial custody.
