While a confirmation will only come on Thursday (October 31), one star Indian cricketer that is set to go under the hammer is KL Rahul. All indications are that Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will release their skipper ahead of the 2025 season. While Rahul's captaincy as well as batting strike-rate has been a source of major criticism from all corners in recent years, he is set to generate high demand being a captaincy option as well as a wicket-keeper batter. For a few months, the rumour mill has stated that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) could buy the 32-year-old. It is worth noting that Rahul is a Bengaluru local and hails from Karnataka. Will KL Rahul Lead RCB In IPL 2025?RCB are likely to need a new captain next year with major doubts over Faf du Plessis' retention. While Faf has led the team to two playoffs in three years and been among the runs, it is doubtful over whether the franchise will continue with the 40-year-old for another three-year cycle.If RCB buy Rahul in the auction, he will emerge as a likely candidate to lead the team. However, one cannot rule out the prospect of Virat Kohli leading the side once again.
