New Delhi: The festive spirit of Diwali is in full swing! Celebrations began with Dhanteras on October 29, and today, October 30, marks Narak Chaturdashi or Chhoti Diwali. However, banks will remain open across India today, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not marked Chhoti Diwali as a holiday this year.

Bank Holidays On DiwaliBut what about the main Diwali holiday? Bank closures will vary depending on the state you are in. Below is the detailed schedule of bank holidays during Diwali week. Bank Holidays on Diwali 2024: State-wise List October 31Banks will remain closed in these states:Delhi, Gujarat, Assam, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa, West Bengal, and Puducherry. The reason varies from Diwali / Deepawali celebrations to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary and Kali Puja. November 1Banks will be closed in the following states:Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand.On this day, different festivals like Diwali, Kut Festival, and Kannada Rajyotsava will be observed.

November 2Banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh will remain closed due to extended Diwali celebrations, such as Laxmi Puja and Govardhan Puja. November 3All banks across India will remain closed on Sunday, as usual. Banking Services During Diwali HolidaysEven though banks will be closed in certain states, customers can still access online banking services through mobile apps and websites. ATMs and cash deposit machines will also function as usual throughout the holiday period.
