The Feud is the forthcoming domestic thriller from . Starring and Rupert Penry-Jones, the highly-anticipated programme depicts a "neighbour war", as residents of the idyllic Shelbury Drive begin realising not everyone is as they seem. The first episode of the British series introduces thriller fans to Emma and John Barnett (played by Jill and Rupert) who live with their teenage daughter, Beth (Megan Trower). The couple, who are close friends with their neighbours, have dreams of building a kitchen extension-causing major chaos within their tight-knit community.
When objections to plans are raised, Emma begins spiralling into a bottomless well of obsession, paranoia and gripping fear. The first episode of The Feud is due to debut on Channel 5 at 9pm on Monday, April 14. It's expected that the five subsequent episodes will continue airing at the same time.
If you don't want to watch this gripping show on a week-by-week basis, then all episodes will be available to stream on service My5. According to an official synopsis, The Feud is "laced with menace" and reveals how one single decision can "set in motion events that have unforeseeable consequences" for the protagonist and the people living on her street.
Led by Jill and Rupert, the ensemble cast also includes Derry Girls favourite Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and icon Larry Lamb. 's Amy Nuttall also features in the forthcoming series, while star James Fleet and 's Ray Fearon will star as Derek and Alan, respectively.
Other actors set to appear include The Inbetweeners' Alex Macqueen, Chris Gascoyne of Moving On fame and Tessa Peake-Jones from Grantchester.
The Feud was written and created by Aschlin Ditta, who has worked on The Catherine Take Show and Doc Martin.
Andy de Emmony is on directing duties. His credits include Father Ted and Red Dwarf VI.
Shot in Newcastle Upon Tyne and Jarrow in May 2024, the neighbour's houses used in The Feud are actually all on the same street in Benton.
Jill, who is leading The Feud, has previously revealed she "can't wait" for fans to dive into the addictive six-part show.
Meanwhile, Channel 5's Paul Testar said: "Neighbourly disputes happen every day. The Feud takes that premise and runs with it to its extreme limit. What starts as an innocuous renovation triggers an extraordinary sequence of events."
