Renault has unveiled a radical that is set to when it launches in 2028.
Displayed alongside the company's latest at the , such as the , the Renault Emblème is a futuristic four-door liftback that features electric and hydrogen powertrains.
Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, higlighted that the new Emblème was designed to be as sustainable to produce and run as possible, cutting around 90 percent of the CO2 made by a current car in its lifetime.
He explained: "Emblème embodies our ecosystem approach and the level of our ambition when it comes to building a sustainable future through technological innovation. It is proof that automotive is still driving progress... keeping emotion in the equation!
"It embodies the future Design Language of the Renault brand, what we call La Nouvelle Vague. An average ICE [internal combustion engine] car has a 50 tons footprint: for Emblème, it's 5 tons, cradle to grave. It's a masterpiece."
Compared to the majority of current electric vehicles, the Renault Emblème features a particularly low-carbon battery pack, instead using sustainable nickel and lithium.
In addition to being more environmentally friendly to produce, Renault claims that the battery will be capable of charging in just 15 minutes by the time the Emblème goes into production in 2028, and will have a combined range of up to 1,000km (620 miles) per charge.
Renault are also working on lowering the cost of electric vehicle batteries by 50 percent in that time, which would likely have a significant impact on the cost of the overall car.
The Renault Emblème also offers a very unconventional interior that is made entirely from recycled materials, including seat foam produced from biological waste and a dashboard that is covered in linen that is capable of storing carbon.
Other parts of the interior are covered in a very fine woven polyester available in four colours. By combining these threads, Renault claims that buyers will be able to customise the look of their vehicle by choosing from no fewer than 62 shades without the need for expensive and harmful dyes.
The Emblème also features plenty of interior technology, including an 8K panoramic infotainment display that spans the entire width of the dashboard and AI-powered driver assistance systems.
Whilst the Renault Emblème is currently no more than a concept, with visitors to the Paris Motor Show only able to look at the exterior, the company have plans to put the model into production.
In the mean time, Renault is due to launch a number of more conventional electric models, many of which look to the company's previous cars from the 1970s.
These include the Renault 5 E-Tech, which is due to launch in the UK during the early months of 2025 with a starting price of about £25,000, and the larger 4 E-Tech, which is set to cost under £28,000.
