An expert cook has shared their method for making the best potatoes in the air fryer with just a few simple ingredients. Air fryers are marvellous inventions and over the last few years, they have revolutionised the way Brits across the country make their breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can cook pretty much anything in an air fryer, but a favourite for many people who own these handy appliances is making crispy roast potatoes.
One expert has shared their method for making the very best potatoes in the air fryer, and it only takes 25 minutes to cook with five minutes of prep beforehand. Lauren Miyashiro, from recipe site Delish, shared her clever air fryer potato method that is a winner every time, listing the ingredients she uses to make them extra delicious. "Herby and extra crispy, these potatoes are ready in half the time-no waiting for the oven to preheat-and cooked through in around 10 minutes," she says of these tasty spuds.
For her air fryer potatoes, garlic powder and Italian seasoning are the two essentials she uses. She makes them using baby potatoes, meaning there is also minimal chopping involved.
"I'll often change up the seasonings I use here depending on what I plan to serve alongside my roast potatoes, but garlic powder and Italian seasoning almost always make it on my list," she says. "I like the slight kick Cajun seasoning brings, but if you or your family don't love spice, feel free to omit."
She also says that salt and pepper are a must. Additionally, she likes to garnish them with lemon juice and parsley when they are cooked, but she says that this is optional.
She first cuts the potatoes and seasons them thoroughly. Then, she places them in the air fryer and cooks them for around ten minutes at 200 °C.
While they take around ten minutes to cook through, you can leave them in for longer if you would like them to get even crispier. What's great about using baby potatoes is that you don't need to boil them first, saving time and effort.
People took to the comments section of the recipe page to share their thoughts, with many praising the dish. One person wrote: "These were amazing! I used larger Yukon Gold potatoes since that's what I had on hand. Cut them into smaller pieces, followed the recipe exactly, and these were the best potatoes I've ever had."
Another commented: "I was given an air fryer for Christmas, and this recipe was the first thing I tried. So easy, so quick, and so very yummy!"
