New UK storm maps show huge rainstorm battering Britain in days ending Spring heat

The UK is bracing for the current period of warm weather to end and make way for a renewed wave of wintry conditions within the next fortnight. New maps by WXCHARTS, which uses MetDesk data, have revealed that April 22 expected to inundate enormous parts of the country.

By 6pm, most parts of the UK will have seen downpours between 0.3mm/hr and 1mm/hr. is expected to be the Midlands and its surrounding areas, which will get rain at around 1mm/hr and potentially higher. These areas include Birmingham, Lincolnshire, Bristol, and Leicestershire.

Compounding the rain will be the temperature, from the sunny highs of 18C the country is currently experiencing.

Many areas of the country will reach 0C, from Plymouth in the South West to Newcastle in the North East. Other cities that can expect similar lows are Southampton, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Manchester.

Norfolk and Suffolk are due to see the highest temperatures, which will range between 2C and 4C.

Separately, the Met Office long-range weather forecast for April 22 to May 6 reads: "Some unsettled weather is possible at this start of this period with showers or longer spells of rain in places.

"However, a change to more settled conditions is most likely during the latter part of April with high pressure becoming more dominant.

"This settled theme continues into early May, although some spells of wetter, unsettled weather remain possible, especially in the south. Temperatures are expected to be above average overall."
