was slammed and given a 1/10 rating by French newspaper L'Equipe for his part in Marseille's dismal defeat against Paris Saint-Germain. The former Manchester United forward has been accused of 'losing interest' and providing a 'catastrophic' pass that led to the visitor's third goal before half-time.
Greenwood was hauled off at the break with Marseille trailing 3-0. L'Equipe believe the one-cap England international should have been taken off beforehand, arguing that his failure to get involved in the game "bordered on indecency".
There were no more goals in the second half, with Greenwood bearing the brunt of a poor result for Roberto De Zerbi's side.
Explaining the rating, the newspaper said: "De Zerbi waited until half-time to take him off, and that was already too much, as his lack of involvement bordered on indecency. Without the ball, he loses interest in everything, like his little trot on the opening goal, and especially this catastrophic pass at the origin of the third goal. A fiasco."
De Zerbi was not impressed with Greenwood's performance either. He suggested that the 23-year-old has been inconsistent and needs to provide more in every match if he is to help his side land the Ligue 1 title.
The former Brighton boss said: "I didn't like the way he played tonight.
"I think he was having a bad day. He gave us a lot of goals and points but when you're at Marseille, if you want to fight for the championship, you have to push in every match.
"You can't say you're doing a good performance by scoring two goals and then having a bad patch the next match. It's not possible.
"He's a good player but I expected more from him tonight. But not only from him. I always expect more in general."
Marseille had enjoyed a positive start to the season but failed the first major test of De Zerbi's tenure against the perennial Ligue 1 champions. PSG led through a seventh-minute Joao Neves goal before Marseille had Amine Harit sent off after only 20 minutes.
Leonardo Balerdi scored an own goal nine minutes later, with Bradley Barcola adding a third just before half-time. Greenwood was partially at fault for that strike, playing a loose pass that gave up possession.
De Zerbi hooked Greenwood and fellow young forward Elye Wahi at half-time. Both players are summer additions to the Italian's expensively-assembled squad.
