A top trick has been revealed that will keep you Kettle clean and free from limescale forever. As a nation, we can be quite unclean in the kitchen, a study has shown.

Wren Kitchens, previously quizzed the nation on their kitchen cleanliness habits. Its study found that 7.2 million Brits have never cleaned there kettle before.

Limescale is a hard, white, chalky deposit formed from calcium and magnesium minerals left behind when hard water evaporates or is heated.

Limescale in the kettle is a pain that we all know too well. It can be stubborn and tough to remove, not to mention making your water feel unclean or taste a bit off. But, an individual has taken to YouTube to share his tips on how to avoid this happening in the future.

YouTuber DIYr said: "Lime scale is an issue for most people. It shortens the life of your appliances. It costs money and time to remove. It increases your consumption of cleaning products, which you know, in turn, will affect the environment."

But, there is one easy way to remove limscale forever, and it costs nothing.

DIYr continued: "So first thing you want to do is add the water, you know, boil the right amount. So boil the amount that you need if you have one cup of tea.

"After that, just wait for it to boil. Once it's boiled, pour it out.

"This is the key thing. So any excess water that you have left over, pour it into the sink. Get rid of it."

He added: "And then, once you've got rid of the hot water that's already in there, leave the lid open. So only two things you need to do, pour the excess hot water away, leave the lid open. That's it. That's all we need to do.

"That will stop lime scale build up in your kettle."

So, there you have it, a prevention method to avoid getting a build up of limescale in your kettle.
