Emmerdale's Tom King, played by James Chase, found himself pleading his innocence after Carl Holliday, portrayed by Charlie Munro Joyce, revealed his violent behaviour. However, viewers believe another character will be the one to bring Tom down.

Tom is currently under investigation for domestic abuse allegations made by his wife Belle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper, during their marriage. The police are seeking his iPad, which contains evidence of his manipulative conduct.

Carl, who is Tom's cousin, was in possession of the device when the police arrived. Tom managed to intimidate the young boy into giving it to him, even threatening him with jail time.

Nicola King, played by Nicola Wheeler, noticed her son's strange behaviour in the following weeks, as Carl became increasingly scared of being around Tom. Determined to understand what was happening, she gently questioned Carl about the situation.

Despite Tom insisting that Carl was lying, he was forced to admit the truth about the tablet when Nicola disclosed that Carl had seen him destroying the device in the garden, reports .

In a surprising twist, Tom confessed that he had footage of Belle from a hidden camera on the tablet, claiming he only installed it out of concern for her mental health. It became clear at this point that Nicola believed Belle's accusations of Tom's abusive behaviour.

Ross Barton, portrayed by Michael Parr, made a dramatic comeback to the Dales after six years away, engaging in a bare-knuckle brawl with Billy Fletcher, played by Jay Kontzle. His return is set to stir up trouble, with fans speculating that he'll be the one to confront Tom.

On Facebook, a fan commented: "Would like to see Tom rub Ross up the wrong way", while another responded: "Ross would make mince meat out of Tom."

Another fan expressed their desire: "Would love Ross to sort Tom out", and someone else agreed: "Ross would not be scared of Tom Tom would be scared of Ross especially if Ross gets told by the family ie Cain that Tom has been abusive towards Belle."

Speculation is rife among viewers, with one predicting: "Ross kills him apparently", and another adding enthusiastically: "Oh yes, brilliant!".

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
