Scrubbing the oven is a loathsome chore as it is, so if you then have to figure out how to clean a glass oven door, it's easy to see why it might be the last thing you'd want to do. Over time, grease stains, splatters, and burnt-on residue build up, leaving the once-clear glass looking foggy and far from its best.
Unfortunately, things only get worse the longer it's left. If this is allowed to accumulate, over time, it will create a layer of grime on the oven door, which gets harder and harder to remove. Cooking at high temperatures also causes these spills and splatters to burn onto the glass, again, making them even harder to remove. To get the job done easily, the three cleaners Express.co.uk spoke to all recommended the same item - baking soda.

Cleaning expert at Sparkly Maid San Diego, Isabella Flores, pointed out that her "favourite household item for cleaning oven glass" is baking soda.
For "any baked-on grease", simply mix baking soda with a little water to make a thick paste, spread the paste on the greasy areas, and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes.
When you are ready to clean, and not before, just use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth to scrub gently, and then wipe away with a towel or clean wet cloth.
Isabella explained: "Baking soda is safe, and effective, and won't scratch the glass, which is why it's my top item for a clean sparkling oven door."
Sarah Dempsey, cleaning expert at My Job Quote, agreed and claimed that it's the "quickest" method. She explained: "One of the quickest ways to clean your oven is with a simple paste made of baking soda and water.
"Create a thick paste and spread it on the surfaces of your oven, including the base, sides and door. Leave it to work overnight and wipe it off the next day with a clean cloth.
"For the oven door, use a scrunched-up piece of aluminium foil and baking powder paste to scrub the glass."
Fantastic Service's house cleaning expert and supervisor, Petya Holevich, said that baking soda is "one of the most effective household items" for removing baked-on grease from oven glass doors.
Petya recommended following the same steps as Isabella, and for "extra power", she noted that households can pour a small splash of white vinegar over the paste before wiping it to help "dissolve any lingering grease" and leave the glass "streak-free".
