
A knife attack in Hamburg, Germany has left several people injured as police swarm the scene.
At least 17 people were injured on Friday evening following a major incident at Hamburg Central Station in the north of the country on Frida, the local fire department has said, as per .
A spokesperson said four of them are in critical condition, and all the victims had gone to hospital. Initial reports had suggested eight people and then 12 people had sustained injuries in the incident. Police had cautioned that there are no reliable figures for the number of victims.
Police said they had arrested the suspect, a 39-year-old woman. Hamburg Police said in a post on X: "According to initial findings, a person allegedly injured several people with a knife in the main station. The suspect was arrested by police."
