Gregg Wallace has shared that "it's been a difficult few months," but he says he's in the "best physical condition ever." The former MasterChef presenter stepped away from hosting the show last year, but was officially sacked from the BBC this month. The 60-year-old posted a video online of himself speaking to his followers, detailing that he's been looking after himself physically. Earlier this month, more than 40 allegations against Wallace were upheld as part of a nine-month inquiry into his conduct. The investigators found that 45 out of 83 allegations against him were substantiated.
Speaking into the camera, Gregg showed that he was in Canary Wharf in London, about to visit a fitness studio. He then said: "It's been a difficult few months, and I made a decision when all this started to really try and look after myself physically."
He then explained that he's exercised better than ever, and he's got better nutrition in his diet. Gregg then added: "I don't know what I would've done without that. Possibly hit the bottle, I don't know. But here I am - possibly in the best physical condition I've ever been."
Gregg's co-star, John Torode, will also not be returning to his position on MasterChef after he was at the centre of an allegation that he used racist language. The broadcaster has not elaborated on what the exact slur was.
Earlier this month, the BBC said that Torode's contract would not be renewed after a report found he had used an "extremely offensive racist term" following a complaint by a member of staff.

BBC News also revealed that John and Gregg Wallace were "never friends" despite working together for 19 years. An individual who worked on the cookery show told BBC News that the dynamic between Torode and Wallace always "seemed off."
Another former MasterChef worker also claimed: "Clearly they had a good chemistry when the cameras were rolling. But you rarely saw them interact when the cameras were off. And when Gregg was saying inappropriate things like that, John held his counsel. I never saw him step in."
Meanwhile, the BBC recently announced that after "careful consideration and consultation with the contestants", it will air John and Gregg's last series of MasterChef - which was filmed in 2024 - on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from August 6.
Express Online have previously contacted John Torode's representative for comment.
