A former Coronation Street star has shared an insight into her "home away from home" as she "moved" into a caravan due to work commitments. Sue Cleaver, who is best known for her role as Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV soap, posted to Instagram as she gave her 154,000 followers a tour of her temporary mobile home.
Speaking into the camera, she explained that when working, she is often on the road and in the past has regularly had to rely on various forms of accommodation, including Airbnb, hotels, and even friends' sofas. As well as being a soap star, Sue is also a stage actress and goes on tour across the nation. She is currently starring in Alan Ayckbourn's new play, Snake in the Grass, and after one of her shows, Sue shared that a fan approached her to ask if she stays in a hotel. In the clip she admitted: "I'm a bit old for that now, and I like my things to be around me so I bring a bit of home with me."
The 62-year-old continued: "I can take it to every job that I go to. I'm going to show you around." She then provided her fans with a tour of her Elddis Buccaneer caravan, which had everything she needed.
It had a cosy living area, with cushions and throws and even a TV. The kitchen area was fully equipped with a coffee machine, an oven, microwave and a fridge.
The bedroom featured a double bed, with a small bathroom hidden away in a sliding door next to it featuring a walk-in shower.
Sue proudly said: "So this is my home when I am working away. It's very cosy and it's great for me." She added: "Honestly, it's the best thing. The best thing I have ever done and I absolutely love it!"
The actress waved goodbye to the iconic ITV cobbles after a 25-year stint playing Eileen Grimshaw to pursue new opportunities and embrace a fresh start, as she stated it was time to "embrace change" and "look for new adventures" in her life.
Her character, Eileen, departed for Thailand to be with her son.
