Beyond Paradise has made a huge announcement regarding the new series, delighting fans. The British crime drama, a spin-off from Death in Paradise, stars Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton.
It first aired in 2023, and fans are desperately awaiting details of the fourth season, which is expected to air early next year. Filming has now commenced, with the BBC series sharing an image of a clapperboard on Instagram.
The caption read: "We're back in Shipton Abbott! Filming has begun this week on the brand-new series of #BeyondParadise.
"Expect plenty of puzzling twists and turns as the team gear up for another series full of mystery, humour, and heart on the sunny shores of Devon and Cornwall."
Fans have been left applauding the news, with one writing, "So exciting," while another said, " Excellent news!" A third added: " Can't wait!"
This comes after fans confirmed that Kris would be reprising his role as Detective Humphrey Goodman, as filming for the BBC Series appeared to have begun.
One person took to a Facebook fan page dedicated to the show and shared a sign that read "BP Unit" along with the caption "Back filming in Cornwall."
"The sign is at St Mellion Golf Club; it's where they store their filming trailers and lorries," one person replied.
Another fan shared a different image from the production company that informed residents when filming would be taking place.
It stated that Beyond Paradise season four filming would begin in July and end in November, "in and around East and West Looe".
Further details about the plot for season four have yet to be released, though season three had a heartbreaking ending.
It saw Humphrey and Martha Lloyd (Sally) wave goodbye to their foster daughter Rosie, having faced their own struggles with having a child and their fertility journey.
Kris recently spoke about his role evolving, having first appeared in season three of Death in Paradise, saying: "I'm still finding stuff with Humphrey."
He went on: "And I think as long as that goes on and as long as Humphrey evolves [that's good] because when I started playing Humphrey it was 11 years ago so the character has to grow with me as I get older.
"As I get more mature -I'm not getting mature- he has to grow with me as I get older. He has to evolve because now I'm in my fifties so I can't play the same character that Humphrey was when he was 40, which is when I started.
"As long as the character keeps evolving to fit the [person] that plays him, as long as there's not too much discrepancy between the two, then that's fine. I think if ever I thought that I was becoming too old to play that then I would say 'that's enough'."
Beyond Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
