Bollywood star Salman Khan has faced another threat, this time involving a demand for Rs.5 crore, reportedly issued "on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang." Authorities said the threat was delivered to Mumbai traffic police via their WhatsApp helpline on Thursday night.
The sender of the message not only demanded the sum of ₹5 crore from Khan but also issued a threat to the lyricist of the song "Main Sikandar Hoon," according to officials. Based on a complaint from the traffic police, Worli police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
This incident adds to a series of threats Khan has received over the past few months. Earlier, Khan had received death threats allegedly linked to the Bishnoi gang. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently held in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Jail on charges of attempted murder and extortion, has reportedly continued to influence activities outside. In April, suspected associates of his gang even fired shots outside Khan’s Bandra residence.
Shortly afterward, Navi Mumbai Police claimed to have foiled a plan by the Bishnoi gang to target Khan while he was en route to his farmhouse in Panvel.
