New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday emphasized the significant strides India has made in the past decade towards unity and national integrity. He affirmed that commitment to national unity is evident in every government initiative and mission, celebrating these efforts as vital steps toward a stronger nation.

Speaking at the Kevadia parade ground in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, PM Modi paid tribute to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity and praised the Armed Forces for their impressive parade display.

"Today, the commitment to national unity shines through every government action. As proud Indians, it is our duty to celebrate these efforts with enthusiasm, fostering new hopes and excitement. This is true celebration," said PM Modi.

He highlighted achievements like the One Nation One Identity (Aadhaar), noting that these initiatives have gained global recognition. "We transitioned from varied tax systems to One Nation One Tax (GST), strengthened our power sector with One Nation One Power Grid, and extended facilities to the needy through the One Nation One Ration Card. Ayushman Bharat stands as One Nation One Health Insurance for millions," he said.

He also mentioned upcoming plans for a One Nation One Election, emphasizing its potential to enhance democratic efficiency and resource utilization. "The move towards a Uniform Civil Code reflects our dedication to secular principles," PM Modi added.

The Prime Minister further praised India’s new education policy, which promotes local languages and strengthens national bonds. "Today, after seven decades, the nation has fulfilled the vision of one country, one constitution. This is my greatest tribute to Sardar Saheb," he said.

PM Modi also addressed the significance of revoking Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, crediting it as a move towards true integration. "For the first time, voting occurred without discrimination in Jammu and Kashmir’s recent Assembly election, with the Chief Minister pledging on the Indian Constitution. This must bring peace to the souls of our Constitution’s makers."

The Prime Minister concluded with heartfelt wishes to the country on National Unity Day, saying, "Like August 15 and January 26, this October 31 celebration fills the nation with renewed energy. Happy National Unity Day to all."
