After the recent Pahalgam attack, Indian security forces struck a heavy blow to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) under Operation Sindoor. The operation targeted and demolished JeM’s main headquarters—the Subhan Allah Mosque complex in Bahawalpur, Pakistan—which served as the group’s core hub for planning, recruitment, and terrorist training. The airstrike inflicted major losses, killing numerous terrorists, reportedly including members of Masood Azhar’s own family. This decisive action crippled one of the group’s most important operational bases and showcased India’s ability to hit terrorist strongholds across the border.
However, in the wake of these strikes, Jaish-e-Mohammed is attempting to regroup. Terror chief Masood Azhar has launched a clandestine online fundraising campaign to rebuild the destroyed headquarters. On social media channels, JeM and its affiliates are urging supporters to donate for the cause, requesting utmost secrecy about donation amounts and donor identities. Azhar’s messaging frames the rebuilding mission in grandiose terms—promising to turn “some parts of the land into paradise” and to revive “the mosques of the martyrs,” while encouraging followers to join “new ways of jihad.”
This effort comes amid renewed recruitment calls and vows to replace lost infrastructure and influence in Pakistan. JeM’s appeal is wrapped in both religious and militant rhetoric, focusing on rebuilding not only their physical base but also rallying supporters for fresh campaigns.
Operation Sindoor thus marks a significant setback for JeM, but the ongoing fundraising and reconstruction attempts illustrate how terror outfits adapt and seek resources to regain lost ground—even in the face of decisive military action. Indian security agencies will be closely watching both online activity and ground developments as JeM and Masood Azhar try to resuscitate their operations in Pakistan.
