India has exposed another lie of Pakistan. A lie is being rapidly circulated on Pakistani social media that a female pilot of India has been captured, which is a blatant lie. Press Information Bureau (PIB) fact-checked this post and rejected this claim of Pakistan outright. In this way, India has once again exposed another lie of Pakistan in front of the world. The name of the Indian female pilot who has been claimed to be captured in the Pakistani social media post is Shivangi Singh. Let us tell you who is this Shivangi Singh?
India's first Woman Rafale Pilot: So let us tell you that Shivangi Singh is India's first and only woman pilot to fly the Rafale fighter aircraft. According to various media reports, Shivangi Singh was born on 15 March 1995 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Her father Haribhushan Singh is a school teacher and is currently the principal of a government school. Her mother Priyanka Singh is a housewife. Shivangi is from an ordinary family. A report states that how conscious Shivangi's family is about girls' education can be gauged from the fact that her great grandfather donated land for girls' education. Shivangi did her early education in Varanasi itself. After this, she did B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a private engineering college.
Pilot Shivangi Singh: How did Shivangi become a pilot?
The story of Shivangi becoming a pilot is also very interesting. It has been told in a report that once the incident of a politician's helicopter landing in her village inspired her to become a pilot. However, Shivangi told in an interview that about two decades ago when she went to the Air Force Museum, New Delhi, she was more surprised to see the fighter planes there. She found the planes so exciting that she touched them with her hands. She was only 9 years old then. Shivangi told in that interview that this was the day that she decided that she would become a pilot. After which she prepared for it and she got selected for the Indian Air Force. She received training from the Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) in Hyderabad. Shivangi Singh was commissioned in the Air Force in 2017.
Shivangi Singh initially flew the MiG-21
Bison fighter jet, which is considered the best aircraft of the Indian Air Force. In 2020, after rigorous training and simulator sessions with French trainers, Shivangi Singh became the first Indian woman pilot to fly the Rafale fighter jet. She is part of the Golden Arrows squadron of the Ambala Air Force Station. Shivangi represented India in the Orion war exercise in France, where she was highly praised. She is India's first and only female Rafale pilot.

After India's Operation Sindoor, Pakistan carried out retaliatory drone and missile attacks. Which India completely foiled. After which Pakistan started spreading false news on social media, one of which was about Squadron Leader Shivangi Singh. Many pro Pakistan X accounts claimed that Squadron Leader Shivangi Singh has been captured by Pakistan. One post wrote that Pakistan captured Indian female Air Force pilot Squadron Leader Shivani Singh when she jumped from her jet. Watch the video here as well. Some posts claimed that Shivangi's Rafale jet was shot down near Sialkot (Pakistan) and she was arrested in Kotli (PoK), which is a blatant lie.
PIB debunks in fact check
