A sensational incident of rape of a 22-year-old school teacher by a middle-aged man has come to light in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The accused had also threatened to kill the victim, due to which the victim committed suicide. Police gave this information on Monday. In this regard, an official said that 55-year-old accused Omkar Patel has been arrested.
Raped at knifepointSihora police station sub-inspector Manoj Kuril said that a private school teacher was returning home from her workplace on October 26 (Saturday) when the accused stopped her in Sihora, about 45 km from the district headquarters. He said that Patel sexually assaulted the teacher at knifepoint and threatened to harm her if she told anyone about the incident. The sub-inspector said that after reaching home, the distressed teacher consumed poison and died during treatment at the government hospital late Sunday night.
Told the doctor about his ordeal before deathThe family of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police. After this, the accused was arrested and a case of rape and abetment to suicide has been registered against him. The family members said that the victim came home and went to her room and locked herself in the room. When the door did not open for a long time, the family members got suspicious. After this, the victim was called, but she did not come out.
Seeing the condition of the victim, the family immediately admitted her to the hospital, where she was treated but her life could not be saved. It is being told that when the girl regained consciousness in the hospital, she identified the accused, after which the police searched for the accused and caught him.
