Tommy Fury opens up on 'horrible' life despite Molly-Mae reunion: 'It's been torture'

Tommy Fury has openly admitted that his last six months have been "absolute torture."

Fury has recently rekindled his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague and the pair are currently soaking up the sun in Turkey on their latest family holiday. The pair have been sharing constant snaps of their time away with baby Bambi. This time around is much different from their last trip abroad.

This comes after Molly-Mae kept Fury out of short as she attempted to conceal the fact that she had rekindled her romance with the boxer following a brief split last year. While the British boxing star is currently enjoying some time away with his loved ones, it appears that everything might not be as it seems.

In a recent teaser for "Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury" - which is set to come to BBC iPlayer on August 19th, the 26-year-old can be seen having a chat with his father, John Fury, admitting that he has struggled going out in public.

"My life has been absolute torture for the past six months. Horrible. Going out in public, getting screamed at. And when you go out in public and someone says something, what are you meant to do? Tip your head and f****** walk on? The reason why, you know all of this is here, is because of social media.

"And it is because you have a profile, and it is because people are interested in you. If you did not, you would be f*****. You would not earn a penny. So it is tough."

Ahead of his return to the ring back in May, Fury revealed he was living the best year of his life after struggling with his split from Molly-Mae and falling into a "dark place" over a hand injury.

"Being in a position where boxing is everything, the fact that I couldn't do that or get out of bed in the morning and did what made me happy, I just thought, 'Sod it all.' You go down that dark route for a few weeks and you end up staying down there for a long time and that has consequences," he said.

"Like I said, 2024 was the worst year of my life and this year is going to be the best year of my life. It starts on Friday, I've turned it all around. I'm happy mentally now. I feel like you've got to go through these challenges in life, everyone's got a hard life so it's all about that I've come through this."

TNT' claimed a resounding victory on points against Kenan Hanjalic in Budapest, Hungary in May in his first fight in nearly two years. Soon after Fury's win, the Brit's foe, Jake Paul, revealed to , that he expressed his interest in a rematch and claimed he's even been in touch with Fury's elder brother.

"I think the Fury fight will happen in the next 12 months, yeah. He just has to be realistic about what's he's worth, right?" he said. "He just had a free fight on DAZN that tanked, couldn't sell the tickets in wherever he was like a 1,000 person venue and he's just negotiating like he's God. Again, I have ten names waiting to fight me in multiple different sports, MMA, boxing, all this stuff. These people just have to be realistic about what they're wanting to get paid and Tommy Fury isn't."

Paul also revealed he messaged the 'Gypsy King' directly about the situation. "But I DM'd Tyson Fury because Tyson was like, 'You guys need to make this happen now.' I was like, 'Tyson, you've got to put your brother in check here. He's not going to get this money or this offer anywhere else.'

"He already missed out on the massive opportunity on Netflix, his dad, who is his manager has no idea what the f*** he's doing and you can't let your dad run your career. Tommy's not his own boss, he's an airhead as well so I just feel bad for him because he thinks he's worth more than what he's worth."

When is Tommy Fury's next fight?

Following his victory over Hanjalic, Fury was quick to call out Paul in his post-fight interview, Fury roared: "Jake Paul's a b**** and he's running scared. Hey Jake, the hand is fixed now baby, the hand is fixed. I fought a guy in here tonight who's had more than 100 amateur fights, an experienced hitter and he's as tough as teeth.

"If Jake Paul wants to step inside the ring, I guarantee next time, I will knock you spark out. I've had two years out the ring, this is after two years, I'll knock that bum out whenever he wants it."

The pair have since talked about a potential rematch. It is likely that Fury may fight once more this year before taking on the American, although, nothing has been confirmed. Both Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk could throw a spanner in the works after it has been reported that the pair are in separate discussions to take on the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
