One of Britain's thinnest homes is up for auction - a two-bedroom terrace house standing at just 7ft wide. The empty Victorian property in Chatham, Kent, is being auctioned this week with a guide price of just £75,000.
The fixer-upper has a bedroom which is a tiny 4ft 7ins wide and the total floorspace for the house is a measly 49 sq metres. On the ground floor, the 7ft 2ins wide narrow home has a living room, kitchen and bathroom.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor and a loft room which can be accessed by a ladder. In photos of the property, a tiny bathtub can be seen fitting from wall to wall.

According to OnTheMarket, the unique home was reportedly built for a family member in the space left between the original terrace. Estate agents McHugh & Co said the house requires 'modernisation' and is 'conveniently close' to Chatham railway station.
The images show it does need a bit of work. And it is clearly a tight squeeze - but at the price it is well worth considering if you live in the area, fancy a challenge, and it fits your needs.
It is being sold through an online auction which is currently live with the deadline for bids on Wednesday, September 17. Another interesting property is also on the market.
A two-bedroom cottage on a remote island is up for £195,000 - with fabulous views of the coast. It is described as an “enchanting, traditional cottage and a wonderful place to find isolation and adventure” and is located on the Burg Peninsula, Isle of Mull, Scotland.

The cottage is being advertised by Bell Ingram on Rightmove, as reported by Luxury Property News. The plot is about 0.31 acre and the home comes with a glazed sunroom leading through to the kitchen, a sitting room and two bedrooms. It also has a garden and a shed.
