Love Island fans slam 'misogynistic' star as he's given clear warning

Love Island's Ben has come under fire from viewers after making a series of "misogynistic" comments about fellow Islander Yasmin.

Fans were left fuming after Ben continued to belittle Yasmin to the boys in scenes that aired tonight (June 27), calling her "a nobody". He already left ITV viewers incensed when he was shown calling the girl "irrelevant" last night (June 27) as they split up.

Tonight Yasmin was seen updating Conor, Megan, Shakira and Toni about her clash with the taxi driver. She told her co-stars: "He said I’ve come out of my shell because of him, he said people only like you in here because of me." The girl went on to vent to Toni on the terrace the next day, joking: "Ben's head is as big as Majorca."

Love Island viewers were quick to slam Ben for his disrespectful comments towards Yasmin on social media, with one raging: "Ben truly disgusts me. I wonder how he treats women in his family cuz this man is misogynistic as hell, he still saying wild shit about Yasmin."

Another added: "Maybe Ben has selective amnesia but nothing he said was ‘perfect’. His obsession with humbling women screams incel."

Others suggested producers may have been involved in Dejon cautioning Ben to keep an eye on his behaviour, speculating: "Producers deffo told Dejon to speak to Ben about his ‘tone’ cus Ben received too much complaints."

Ben and Yasmin’s relationship has been a rollercoaster ride over the past few days. The pair were initially coupled up and even grew close under the covers in bed.

However, things took a dramatic turn when Ben spoke to his friends about how he was no longer interested in her, and told Yasmin he wanted to "take a step back" because their connection had gone "from 0 to 100 real quick".

He later told Shakira he had never had real feelings for Yasmin and claimed she had been the one to initiate intimacy between them. Yasmin confronted Ben after being encouraged by Toni to stand up for herself, only for him to repeatedly interrupt her and ask: "Are you done ranting?" Yasmin hit back, reminding him that it "wasn’t the Ben show" and that the "world doesn’t revolve around" him.

As Yasmin walked away, Ben shouted after her: "This is amazing content… You’ve just given Love Island three weeks of content," before cruelly adding, "No man wants you in here" and branding her "the most irrelevant girl I’ve ever met".

Fans were horrified by his behaviour, and one viewer called him "a real nasty piece of work" online. Another posted: "Nah Ben is actually a disgusting person. The way he just spoke about Yas and treated her there was genuinely one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve sat through."
