Gen V’s second season has finally arrived, but the hit spin-off to The Boys is clouded by the tragic loss of actor Chance Perdomo.
Season two premiered today (Wednesday, 17th September) on Prime Video with three gripping new episodes.
However, the series returns with a devastating twist as it’s confirmed Perdomo’s character Andre Anderson died off-screen during an escape attempt from the ‘supe’ detention centre Elmira.

His cohort at Godolkin University are left distraught but determined to honour his legacy in any way they can - though this immediately causes disagreements.
The series also begins with a simple but effective tribute to the star, a title card reading “For Chance” at the start of the first episode.
Ahead of the premiere, the cast of Gen V have opened up about their reactions to Perdomo’s death in a motorcycle accident in March 2024 while speaking to Prime Video.
Sean Patrick Thomas, who portrays Andre’s father Polarity, shared: “Coming back to film Gen V Season 2 was a crazy mix of sadness and the feeling of excitement that comes with diving into the unknown.
“Up to that point, 99% of my scenes were with Chance Perdomo so the thought of coming to set and not seeing him was unthinkable to me. I really couldn’t wrap my brain around it, and initially the shock and sadness was impossible to shake.
“As time went on, it was an honor and a privilege to be a part of telling the story of what happened to Andre, and to see what the writers would come up with to tell that story. Making sure Chance was vividly still a part of this cast was important to me.”
Previewing how the series will adapt to the tragic loss, Thomas added: “What’s special to me about Season 2 is the way everyone dealt with Chance’s death by digging deep and giving their all under devastating circumstances.
“Every day felt meaningful, as every moment with Chance was so meaningful.”
Lizze Broadway, who plays Emma Meyer aka Little Cricket, admitted: “Losing Chance shattered me.
“It wasn’t just grief, it felt like the ground dropped out from under all of us. He was my best friend, my creative partner, my safe place in the chaos.”
However, she also shared how the series was able to recover and return better than ever, adding: “But somehow, returning also became a way to honor him.
“What’s really special to me about Gen V Season 2 is that, through all the chaos — Chance’s passing, the heartbreak, and the challenges that came with it — we still pulled together and made something we’re genuinely proud of.”
And Derek Luh, who plays the male form of gender-switching supe Jordan Li, added: “Coming back to film the second season was definitely a challenge, especially with the loss of Chance.
“But the entire cast did such an amazing job banding together and making something really special.”
Gen V season 2 continues Wednesdays on Prime Video.
