It's been revealed that favourite Charlotte Jordan was left crying for four hours on her final day on set, as she filmed her "emotional" last scenes as fiery barmaid Daisy Midgeley.
Things took an emotional turn for the soap star, 29, with tears aplenty and she wasn't alone. Her fast-approaching exit had a number of her co-stars weeping all day, while the star's own non-stop tears caused her trouble later on when she was left "dry as a bone" in her last ever scene.
After nearly five years in the role, Daisy will depart the Cobbles in a matter of days. Fleeing or not, there wasn't a dry eye in the house when it came to Charlotte's final day on set and those 'emotional' last scenes.
She revealed: "I’m not a big crier. But let me tell you, I cried on and off for about four hours straight. My last scene was with the beautiful , and we were meant to cry in the scene – but we were both dry as a bone.
"As soon as they yelled our final cut, we both burst into tears. Typical." Her colleagues and co-stars went out of their way to "make it so special" for her too, while also sobbing over her time with the show coming to an end.
She shared: "The Corrie gang made it so special for me. The canteen made me my favourite lunch – which made me cry. The art department drew me a beautiful card – which made me cry. I would look over to Channique [Sterling-Brown] or Julia [Goulding] or Sal [] during our last lunch break and see them crying – which made me cry. I think I was medically dehydrated by the end of the day."

With viewers left reeling with the news of her departure earlier this year, Charlotte has now shed light on what led to the decision and how Daisy will exit Weatherfield in scenes airing next week. Revealing her plans to explore new roles, she told us: "I’m feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I’ve gotten to work with. Kate [Brooks] has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy’s exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice.
"And I can’t tell you how much fun the other cast members and I had playing out this last hurrah." Charlotte confesseed it's "bittersweet" though, with Daisy "running from her heartache" and leaving "destruction" behind when she does.
She spilled: "I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her. "
Charlotte added: "I think we’ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she’s ultimately realised she doesn’t need to stay in a place that’s caused her so much heartbreak. And it’s just as well she’s running far away to the other side of the planet, as she’s left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!"
But there's hope for fans we will see Daisy again in the future. Charlotte teased: "It’s a very special building, and I have loved it. And it’s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever."
For all those hoping for a happy ending for Daisy and Daniel Osbourne, Charlotte revealed there's certainly heartbreak ahead. She said: "I think they’ll both be each other’s 'what if' love story. I think we’ll all be mourning what could have been.
"I think she also knows, deep down, that if Daniel were fully aware of what she’s about to do to Jenny, he wouldn’t be willing to let it slide and continue to stand by her side. So it’s almost like she’s cutting him loose before she can see how disappointed in her he’ll be."
There will also be plenty of drama, pain and "backstabbing" on the cards in the lead-up to Daisy's exit too as Daisy's mother Christina continues to target Jenny, and takes things too far. Charlotte revealed of the scenes on the way: "Daisy knows exactly what her mother is like.
"She keeps giving Christina these chances to step up and be there for her and every time Christina throws it back in her face. She wants to believe Christina can change, but I think she’s more mad at herself for continuing to allow Christina to hurt her – when Daisy knows that’s all she’s ever done. But unfortunately for Christina, you reap what you sow, and no one can manipulate and backstab quite like our Daisy!"
