Antiques Road Trip expert Philip Serrell issued a warning after "falling over" during a chaotic deal.

In a previous episode of the beloved BBC antiques programme, the 71-year-old auctioneer was on the hunt for the perfect piece to take to the final auction, when he clocked an old cigarette advert perched high on the wall.

As he beckoned seller Dave over to ask about the cost, the dealer wasn't paying attention to where he was going, which turned out to be a costly error in the cramped antiques shop.

Philip almost fell over as he tripped over an item, leaving Dave completely gobsmacked.

Choosing to capitalise on the moment to his benefit, he announced: "Oh, I can feel a claim coming on!" reports the Express.

Philip then shouted: "My back, my back!" whilst trying to haggle the price down even more.

The expert eventually settled on £55 for the battered sign, joking: "It should have a health warning but lets hope it doesn't have a wealth warning."

It wasn't the only accident he encountered in Dave's shop, as he battled to navigate his way around the crammed store.

Philip knocked over several pieces as he investigated every nook and cranny, leaving no stone unturned. The awkwardness paid off though, as the sign made an impressive £10 profit when it went to auction.

The news comes after the BBC expert recently left fans excited with a fresh show idea.

The antique specialist, alongside co-star Natasha Raskin-Sharp, has been travelling the UK in search of buried gems, this time concentrating their activities on Sheffield.

Before they embarked on their hunt, Philip made an intriguing proposition: "I think we need to have the Phil and Tash show."

A surprised Natasha responded: "Do you reckon? Are you pitching right now?" before Philip confirmed his idea, declaring: "Phil and Tash on the road, you heard it here first."

Fans were excited by the prospect, with one writing on social media: "Really enjoyed the first week of new series, just to say Phil and Tash on the road is something I would watch happily!"

Another added: "The best two ever on the #AntiquesRoadTrip".
