Send Push

Summer is here, and what better way to beat the heat than with a refreshing and healthy drink? Iced Sparkling Honey-Lime Red Tea is a delicious and rejuvenating beverage perfect for hot days. This easy-to-make drink combines the natural sweetness of honey, the tang of lime, and the invigorating flavor of red tea, all with a sparkling twist to make it extra refreshing.

Ingredients:

2 cups of water

2-3 bags of red tea (Hibiscus tea or Rooibos tea are great options)

2 tablespoons of honey (or more, depending on your sweetness preference)

Juice of 1 lime

Sparkling water (or club soda)

Ice cubes

Lime slices (for garnish)

Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

- Begin by boiling 2 cups of water. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add the red tea bags to the water. Let the tea steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the tea flavor. Once steeped, remove the tea bags and set the tea aside to cool to room temperature.

- While the tea is still warm, stir in the honey until it is completely dissolved. If you like your tea sweeter, feel free to add more honey. Once mixed, let the tea cool to room temperature or place it in the fridge to chill faster.

- Once the tea is cooled, add the fresh lime juice to the tea. Lime adds a refreshing zesty kick that pairs perfectly with the red tea and honey sweetness.

- In a glass or pitcher, add a generous amount of ice cubes. Pour the chilled red tea mixture over the ice, filling up the glass or pitcher about 3/4 full. Top off the drink with sparkling water or club soda to add the perfect fizzy touch.

- Garnish your iced sparkling honey-lime red tea with a few lime slices and fresh mint leaves for an extra burst of flavor and color. Stir gently and serve immediately.

Why This Drink is Perfect for Summer:

Hydrating & Refreshing: The iced tea is a great way to hydrate your body during the hot summer months while offering a delicious, natural alternative to sugary sodas.

Packed with Antioxidants: Red tea, particularly hibiscus tea, is loaded with antioxidants that help fight inflammation and boost overall health. It’s also known to support heart health and help lower blood pressure.

Low-Calorie & Naturally Sweetened: This drink is naturally sweetened with honey, so you can enjoy a healthier beverage without all the extra calories and refined sugars found in many store-bought drinks.

Fizzy & Fun: The sparkling water adds a fun, fizzy element to the tea, making it feel like a special treat on a hot day.

Pro Tips:

For a fruitier version, add a splash of freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice.

You can substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.

For a stronger flavor, add a bit more lime juice or even a lime zest.
