The different splendor of the festival of Diwali in India is worth seeing. There is light all around, diyas are lit and lighting is done. On this day Lord Ganesha and Maa Lakshmi are worshiped. It is believed that on this day Maa Lakshmi comes to earth. Apart from wearing new clothes, decorating houses and worshiping with full rituals, there is another thing that people do and that is burning crackers. On this day, from children to adults, everyone burns crackers, but if you live in Delhi, then this news becomes very important for you because you must know what is the rule regarding burning crackers here. So let's know about this...

What does the rule say?

If you live in Delhi, then like the last few years, this year also you will not be able to burst crackers on the occasion of Diwali. The Delhi government's Pollution Control Committee has issued a guideline regarding bursting crackers in Delhi, in which it is clearly stated that this time too you will not be able to burn crackers in Delhi.

If you make a mistake, you may get into trouble

There is a complete ban on bursting crackers in Delhi till January 1, 2025. In such a situation, if you burst crackers this Diwali or anytime between January 1, 2025, then appropriate action can be taken against you. In this, you can be fined Rs 200 or you can be jailed for 6 months.

This is why it has been banned

If you are wondering why bursting crackers is banned in Delhi as soon as Diwali arrives for the last few years? So this is done because the air quality in Delhi reaches a very poor level even before Diwali. In such a situation, if crackers are burnt, it can make the situation worse. Therefore, this decision has been taken for the last few years.

This is an option

As per the rules, you cannot burn crackers in Delhi, but you have an option and that is green crackers. Green crackers make less noise and also cause less pollution as compared to other crackers. Therefore, you can burn these crackers this Diwali, but you can burn them only within the stipulated time i.e. from 8 pm to 10 pm.
