SaaS unicorn Zoho has launched its suite of point-of-sale (POS) devices, including an all-in-one POS device, smart POS device and static QR with soundbox, to expand its fintech offerings under Zoho Payments.
Zoho cofounder Sridhar Vembu took to X to make the announcement. Zoho has also partnered with the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) subsidiary NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd (NBBL) to address “real business challenges and strengthen India’s digital payments infrastructure”, Vembu added.
Meanwhile, the company is also working on integrating Zoho Pay with its instant messaging app Arattai to make payments via the app, Vembu said.
Notably, Arattai’s biggest rival WhatsApp currently allows users to make payments through WhatsApp Pay.
Zoho also announced the launch of a range of payment solutions, including payout capabilities, virtual accounts for collections, and marketplace settlements today on the sidelines of the ongoing ‘Global Fintech Fest 2025’ in Mumbai.
“Zoho Payments now supports payouts, enabling businesses using Zoho Payroll to make salary disbursements and automate employee payroll processing. Businesses can make salary payments easily from any of their bank accounts, track the payments made, and have a more reliable way to transfer funds,” the company said in a statement.
Zoho received the final approval for a payment aggregator licence in February last year. Following it, the company forayed into the payments space with the roll out of Zoho Payments. At the time, Zoho said that by integrating Zoho Payments with its finance and operations applications, including Zoho Books, Zoho Invoice and Zoho Billing, businesses can streamline their payment processes.
The launches come amid a resurgence of interest in India-made products. Recently, IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw publicly endorsed Zoho’s software suite for official government work.
Meanwhile, Arattai has seen a sharp surge in downloads over the past few weeks. Last week, Zoho alsorolled out a new sub-brand called Vani to offer AI-powered “visual” workplace collaboration tools.
In July, the company introduced a suite of AI products, along with its large language model, to facilitate businesses with easy integration, customisable AI agents and automation. Meanwhile, it also acquired robotics startup Asimov Robotics earlier this year to expand its R&D capabilities in robotics.
