The inaugural program for Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2024 was held at the South Western Railway (SWR) headquarters, Rail Soudha, on October 28, 2024.
Arvind Srivastava, General Manager/ SWR administered the pledge to the officers and staff of Head Quarters. GM also unveiled posters themed on Vigilance Awareness.
A. Annadurai, Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer of SWR, provided an overview of the various activities organized as part of VAW 2024 within the South Western Railway.
In his address, the General Manager emphasized the importance of collective vigilance, underscoring that everyone has a role in maintaining ethical standards. He highlighted the detrimental effects of corruption on economic growth, social justice, and public trust, calling for the active engagement of employees, stakeholders, and citizens in fostering honesty and transparency in daily life.
Following the program, the General Manager and senior officers paid floral tributes to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Integrity Garden in Rail Soudha. The Vigilance Pledge was also administered across all divisions, units, and offices of South Western Railway.
In addition, a seminar on "Cyber Hygiene & Security" was conducted at Rail Soudha, featuring Sandeep Prakashchand Gadiya, a Cyber Crime Investigator and Cyber Forensic Expert. The session addressed prevalent cyber-crimes and provided best practices to safeguard against cyber fraud and cybercrime.
