Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The revenue officers (ROs) including tehsildars and naib tehsildars have opposed the move of the State government to make the division in the duties of these officers as ‘Judicial and Non-Judicial’.
They have demanded that this proposal should not be implemented until this scheme is not perfectly structured and necessary amendments in the law are made.
The revenue officers posted in the district presented a memorandum of citing this demand to collector Asheesh Singh at his office on Wednesday. The memorandum is address to Chief Secretary of the State. On this occasion a large number of ROs were present.

The instructions are completely silent on what is the purpose of implementing this decision, how will it increase efficiency.
It is also not mentioned anywhere in the instructions that any committee has done a study regarding the increase in efficiency due to this division. The instructions are completely silent on the basis on which the calculation was done to mark 14 tehsildars and naib tehsildars in the districts of divisional headquarters and 8 in other districts for non-judicial work.
